Back to School, Back on the Road

An Admission Counselor’s Perspective of the New School Year…

All summer long while many high school offices have the luxury of enjoying the endless summer days, our days have been filled with research, planning, more research, even more planning, and lots of left voicemails and emails as we eagerly anticipate completing our fall travel plans. Oh yes, it’s that time of year again where we tell our friends and family we will see them at Thanksgiving and head out on the long, winding road that leads to your high school.  Early mornings filled with high school visits and college fairs that cap off our night, complete our day all to start over and do the same thing the next morning; All this in hopes of meeting that perfect student for our institution. Some may think we have a glamorous life traveling from city to city, and don’t get me wrong we have our share of fun, but truth be told we are often off the beaten path and at many times alone, finding our sense of “home” in the corner of Panera Bread because it has free wi-fi!  So here’s to another travel season…to bagels, cookies, more bagels, and oh-no-if-I-see-one-more-chocolate-chip-cookie…we’re headed your way! We’re excited to see you! And can’t wait to visit your students!
